‘Nigeria Is Bleeding!’ – Gov Fintiri Issues Dire Warning to Federal Government

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has issued a stark and urgent warning to the Federal Government, painting a grim picture of the country's economic and social realities. Speaking on Thursday at a crucial National Reconciliation Committee meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi, Fintiri did not mince words as he described the nation’s deepening crisis.

With millions of Nigerians struggling under the weight of harsh economic policies, soaring inflation, and increasing insecurity, the governor’s message was clear: Nigeria is in critical condition, and immediate action is needed to prevent total collapse.

“Nigeria Is Bleeding, and We Are Suffering”

During the high-stakes meeting, which was attended by governors from the North East, including those from Bauchi and Taraba, as well as the acting PDP National Chairman, Fintiri expressed deep frustration over the worsening state of the economy.

"Nigeria is bleeding! We are suffering! There is too much anger, and the economic policies in place are simply not working!" Fintiri declared, his voice heavy with concern. "We continuously urge the Federal Government to rethink some of these policies because they are only inflicting unbearable hardship on Nigerians."

Unbearable Hardships and Rising Anger

The governor's comments echo the growing outcry from millions of Nigerians, who are grappling with skyrocketing food prices, fuel costs, job losses, and worsening insecurity. Across the country, frustration is mounting as families struggle to afford basic necessities, businesses shut down, and crime rates surge.

A Country on the Brink?

Fintiri’s warning is not just rhetoric; it is a reflection of the worsening living conditions of Nigerians. Reports indicate that:

  • Inflation has reached record highs, with the cost of essential goods skyrocketing beyond the reach of ordinary citizens.
  • Unemployment and job losses continue to rise, leaving millions in economic despair.
  • Insecurity is worsening, with banditry, kidnappings, and insurgent attacks increasing daily.
  • The cost of living crisis is forcing families into extreme poverty, with no relief in sight.

A Call for Urgent Action

Beyond his criticism of economic policies, Fintiri stressed the need for leadership built on trust, responsibility, and the fear of God. He urged those in power to remember that governing is a privilege, not a right, and that leaders must prioritize the well-being of their citizens over personal interests.

“Holding a position of power is a privilege given by God,” Fintiri stated passionately. “We must govern with responsibility, with empathy, and with the people’s best interests at heart. Anything less is a betrayal of the trust placed in us by Nigerians.”

A Warning That Must Not Be Ignored

Governor Fintiri’s statement is not just a complaint—it is a dire warning. If urgent and meaningful changes are not made, Nigeria risks plunging into an even deeper crisis, one that could destabilize the nation beyond repair.

The Federal Government must take swift, decisive, and people-centered action to address:

  1. The failing economy and rising cost of living.
  2. Rampant insecurity and lawlessness.
  3. The growing anger and frustration among citizens.

The time for empty promises and failed policies is over. Nigeria stands at a crossroads, and history will not be kind to those who ignored the warning signs.
